Galyna Pidpruzhnykova is an Analyst with Catenion and lives in Berlin.
After obtaining her PhD in the field of Neuroscience from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL), Galyna joined Catenion in 2018 where she focuses on R&D strategy development and technology assessment in the biopharma space.
Galyna discovered her passion for emerging technologies and innovation by doing pro bono consulting at the international think tank ShARE. During her PhD, Galyna chaired two student associations and worked as a Neuroscience PhD program representative reporting directly to the heads of her university. She led the organisation of career fairs for >600 participants, developed multiple industrial collaborations, and also founded and fundraised for a summer school and the Exposure science film hackathon.
Galyna is a tireless salsa dancer, snowboarder, hiker and enjoys challenging herself with extreme sports like, for example, sky diving.
Galyna earned her PhD in Neuroscience from EPFL, where her research focused on mechanisms of recovery after spinal cord injury and development of novel neuroprosthetic therapies. The result of this study was the establishment of a highly innovative brain-controlled neuroprosthetic system for improving locomotor recovery in rats. Prior to this she investigated the neural correlates of higher cognitive behaviors in crows at the University of Tübingen during her Master’s studies in Germany. Galyna holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Physiology from the National University of Kyiv, Ukraine, where she is originally from.
