While we pay competitive salaries, professional development at Catenion is more akin to an initiation into the consulting trade than a planned, step–by–step career. From day one, you will spend a lot of time with our partners and senior clients. You will contribute according to what you can do rather than what is expected from you “at such and such a level of your career”. And if you love the biosciences and medicine, don’t worry: It is unlikely that you will spend a year optimising process flows in the credit controlling department of a bank.
It will not come as a surprise that we are looking for individuals with diverse backgrounds, who are curious, self–starters and capable of working in our non–hierarchical environment, which puts a high premium on collaborative knowledge generation in– and outside of client projects.
We recruit essentially through word by mouth of clients and associates. We do not retain or pay headhunters for unsolicited applications, even if successful.
Your colleagues are part scientists with a PhD and significant post–doc or working experience, part economists and MBAs with a strong interest in science, technology and medicine. Prior strategy consulting experience is helpful but not a pre–requisite.
